Aowafy Orchestra blander sammen alt som er godt her i livet, og ender opp med å gjøre det litt bedre. Med tre spiseskjeer Øst-Afrikansk afrobeat, en kilo med funk, og raus klype jazz, er det ingen tvil om at det blir et rytmebonanza av dimensjoner. Basert i Oslo med medlemmer fra Sudan, Frankrike, Sverige, New Zealand og drar oktetten inspirasjon fra både land og strand.

På kort tid har de opparbeidet seg både rykte og renommé; nok til å bli bedt om å stille som backingbandet til reggae-legenden Eek-A-Mouse i Oslo. De har også opptråd på PRIOs (Peace Researche Institute of Oslo) sin årlige fredstale. I tillegg har bandet selv etablert Sudansk aften i Solidaritet, arrangert i samråd med Kulturhuset i Oslo, Leger uten grensen og Sudansk Forening i Norge.

Debutplaten nærmer seg kokepunktet, men først står Vill Vill Vest 2024 for tur. Aowafy Orchestra er klare for å få seg nye bekjentskaper, og håper at alle bergensere er klare til å danse!

Aowafy Orchestra combines everything good that life has to offer, making it all even better. With three big spoons of East-African afrobeat, a pound of funk, and a generous pincj of jazz, there is no doubt that this concert will be a rythmic bonanza for the ages. Based in Oslo, with memebers from Sudan, France, Sweden and New Zealand, this octet draws inspirations from near and far.

In a short time Aowafy have garnered quite the reputation as a live band; enough to be asked to back legendary reggae musician Eeek-A-Mouse on his concert in Oslo. They have also performed at PRIO’s (Peace Research Institute of Oslo) annual public gathering. They have also established Sudans aften i Solidarity (Sudanese evening in Solidarity) together with Kulturhuset i Oslo, Doctors Without Borders and the Sudanese Association of Norway.

Their debut album is reaching its boiling point, but first, Vill Vill Vest 2024 is coming up. Aowafy Orchestra are ready to meet the people, and they hope all of Bergen is ready to dance!
