Bergenske MALUM er nyeste player ut på den norske klubb-fusion-scenen. Bandet, bestående av syv dyktige jazz/pop/rock-musikere, har som mål å finne den perfekte blandingen mellom en svett kveld på nattklubben, gritty trommer og synther, og innhyllende og forførende stemningsfulle lydlandskap. Prosjektet ble startet i tidlig 2023 av trommis Emil Malum og har sin musikalske ryggrad i elektroniske sjangre som trance, drum’n’bass, house og techno - blandet med en god dose ambient og jazz-fusion. Kombinert med radbrekkende improvisasjoner og hypnotiserende visuals er dette en liveopplevelse du ikke vil gå glipp av på Vill Vill Vest 2024.

MALUM is the newest addition to the Norwegian club-fusion scene, hailing from the fabled musical heart of Norway, the city of Bergen. Consisting of seven highly skilled jazz and crossover musicians, the band has a strong musical backbone in electronic music like trance, drum'n'bass, house and techno, as well as ambient and jazz fusion. The band was started in early 2023 by drummer Emil Malum, known from pop acts like Metteson, Han Herman and Hannah Storm. Their goal is to find the sweet spot between the energetic and sweaty nightclub experience, gritty synths and drums and the enveloping and exhilarating soundscapes of ambient improvisation.
